InDesign’s Package function also bundles placed images. We highly recommend using it to avoid missing links.
Linking to images rather than embedding them makes troubleshooting faster and reduces errors.
Convert all images to CMYK, duotone, or grayscale before submission. RGB images are for screens and will not reproduce correctly in print.
Extend artwork 1/8” beyond the trim edge for any full-bleed designs.
Set your layout to the correct finished size. Printer’s spreads are not necessary — we handle imposition.
Digital proofs at 100% scale are preferred. If you cannot provide one, Premier Print Group can generate proofs for an additional fee.
Avoid applying artificial “type attributes” not included in the font set. InDesign/Illustrator drop shadow features are preferred for reliable output.
Vector-based blends (Illustrator, InDesign) generally produce smoother results than Photoshop gradients.
If using transparency or drop shadows, supply the native file (e.g., .indd, .ai) along with your exported PDF/EPS. This ensures full editability and correct color separation.
For solid black backgrounds, use C63 M52 Y51 K100 for a deep, consistent black instead of 100% K alone.
Minimum recommended line width: 0.25 pt. Hairlines may disappear on high-res devices.
For tri-fold brochures, make the inner panel slightly narrower (e.g., 3-5/8” instead of 3-11/16”) for clean folding.
Avoid screens below 10% (may drop out) or above 90% (may fill in on press).
When submitting digitally, compress your packaged files into a .zip archive. This prevents corruption during upload.
